Our Philosophy

  • Food. It is our main source of nutrition, energy, and comfort. Eating is one of life's greatest joys, and yet in our society, food can often be considered as the enemy, or something to fear.

We all aim to be healthy, look good and feel energized-- and we all follow different paths to get there.

At Kitchen Therapy, we believe the answer is simple. If you want real results, eat real food. Our philosophy is centered on natural and whole food that is delicious and prepared with care and creativity. Our meals are completely free of animal products, added oils, and refined flours and sugar. We pride ourselves on creating a symphony of flavors, colors and textures with each meal, and are committed to making it easy and convenient for you to enjoy.

Kitchen Therapy is not about diet or restrictions. It is about eating as much healthy fare as you desire, as each bite is an act of kindness towards your body, the earth and our extended community. No more obsessing over calories. No more worrying about ingredients you can't pronounce. No more guilt.

The powerful effects of nutrition on our health are undeniable, and it is our daily food choices that determine whether these effects are beneficial or detrimental. The food we eat will either heal or harm us. The good news is the choice is ours.

Our mission is to empower you on your journey and help you eat your way to health, beauty and peace of mind. Let's celebrate food again!
  • Eating a whole food, plant-based diet is the most effective way to look and feel your best.

First off, when you eat this way, every bite you take is good for you. Each calorie you consume comes with a plethora of health protective compounds, like vitamins minerals, anti-oxidants, fiber, and thousands of other nutrients that only plants can offer.

That’s not all. By avoiding concentrated fats like oils, as well as refined sugars and flours, your stomach becomes fuller faster. In other words, it is very hard to eat more calories than you need on a whole food, plant-based diet. Calories are no longer your enemy! You can eat to your heart’s content, substituting guilt for pleasure.

You will feel fully satisfied, and will most likely also experience higher energy levels and greater mental clarity. That's quite incredible, isn't it?

Dr. T. Colin Campbell, the author of the famous “China Study”, says a whole food, plant-based diet supports health across the board (click here for a good summary). It is no surprise that doctors throughout the country are using it to prevent and even reverse some of our society’s top killer diseases (including the Montefiore Hospital right here in NYC).

A plant-based diet was found to be the most effective for weight loss. Vegans have an average BMI of 23.6 (well within the healthy range) while meat eaters in the US have a BMI of 28.8 (dangerously close to the obesity range). This may help explain why vegans have a much lower risk of type 2 Diabetes than the general population.

Heart disease—our society’s top killer—was found to be almost nonexistent in populations with diets comprise of whole plant foods. Plant-based diets are also linked to lower rates of certain types of cancer.

No matter your motivations, eating a whole food, plant-based diet will provide you with the nourishment you need to be at the top of your game. Kitchen Therapy will take you there.

Simonne always led an active and busy lifestyle—and was always as avid an exerciser as she was an eater. But after years of believing she can eat whatever she wanted as long as she worked out, she realized she was not as healthy— both physically and mentally—as she could be. Years of fluctuating weight, skin problems, and anxiety issues led her to finally revolutionize her eating habits by switching to a whole food, plant-based diet, while maintaining her busy lifestyle in the world of international diplomacy. The results were almost immediate and positively astounding. With Kitchen Therapy, Simonne is able to combine her passion for great-tasting, healthy food with her passion for helping others around her.
